Analysis of Late Infections After Human Bone Marrow Transplantation: Role of Genotypic Nonidentity Between Marrow Donor and Recipient and of Nonspecific Suppressor Cells in Patients

چکیده
Infections occurring 6 mo or later after bone marrow transplantation for severe aplastic anemia or hematologic malignancy were analyzed in 98 long-term survivors. Vancella-zoster (VZ) infections were analyzed separately from all other infections. The factcr predisposing most strongly to late VZ infection was genotypic nonidentity for HIA between marrow donor and recipient. There was a suggestion that chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) associated with the presence of nonspecific suppressor cells also predisposed to late VZ infection. while age less than 1 0 yr was protective against such infections. SUMMARY Up to 15 years ago, bone marrow transplantation was experimental, but in the recent years it has gained an important role in the field of Medicine, and it has clearly been established as a therapeutic modality for a wide range of diseases. During 1950-1955 when marrow transplant was first attempted in human, little was known about transplant antigens. Supportive care techniques such...

Hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) which give rise to different blood cell types are present within the bone marrow microenvironment, especially in flat bones such as skull, vertebrae, pelvis and chest. Interacting factors such as stromal derived factor-1/CXCR4, very late antigen-4/vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, Lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1/ intercellular adhesion molec...

Background: Renal transplantation is the best choose in the end stage renal disease (ESRD), and acute rejection and graft dysfunction remain major challenges in the worldwide, even with the advent of new immunosuppressive drugs. The novel cell-based anti-rejection treatments have been studied by using different stem cell sources. In this study, transplantation of autologous-bone-marrow-derive...
متن کاملEvaluation of Therapeutic Effects of Autologous Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells to Prevent the Progression of Chronic Nephropathy in Renal Transplant
Background Chronic allograft nephropathy(CAN) is one of the most common causes of chronic and end stage renal disease. It is defined with Mainly tubular atrophy and interstitial fibrosis and no evidence of any other etiology, or functional disorder that caused at least three months after transplantation . Control of risk factors (HTN,DM,HLP, …) and limiting usage of calcineurin inhibitors...
